Have I really ever expressed how much I love my kids?

Well I really do love them.

They both are pretty cool with amazing qualities.

Jackson has such a sweet and kind heart.

Lizzie is so tremendously talented and beautiful.

They each have their little quirks also,

but that's what makes them kids!

Right?

Thank you Lord for my two perfect gifts!

Bored

Wow!

There was a lot of freezing days the past two weeks

and here in Texas we are not use to that.

I was bored.

So what's a girl to do when she's trapped in the house?

SHOP & DREAM!!

I really want to redo my kitchen,

so I was coveting these that I found...

This is too white for me- I love a dark cozy room,

but I love the color of these green cabinets.

Love, love, love these cabinets,

but I would be so scared to try to paint them myself!

Then it was time to SHOP!
I got this headband for Lizzie to use in her senior pictures.
So cute!

So I finally bought myself a little Valentine present!

Snow Day

Yep, can you believe it? Us Texans had a snow day!

What a great day it was!

No school,

lots of sledding,

snow fights and

so much fun!

After we used up all of the snow and ice at our house,

we headed for the grandparents.

They have a great hill on the back side of the house!

Yes, daddy was reluctant to drive us out to the country,

but I knew deep down inside he was excited too!

Even NaNa had to get in on the fun! Whoa!

They had too much fun!

It's always fun to act like a little kid again!

Everyone was pooped after all the snow fun.

It was time for a hot fire and hot chocolate!

Valentine's Day!

A Cold Family Night

It was one cold night last night!

We are not use to that here in Texas.

The kids have been begging me to make a fire and eat supper in front of it,

so I made a big fire and tortilla soup. Their fav!

Jackson and I played some cards and of course he beat me!

I decided to go make some quick one minute cookies and when I came back this is what I found in front of the nice fire that they begged to have-

two sleeping kiddos at 7:30pm!

What a night!

RUNNERS at it AGAIN

Congratulations to Jon, George, Jen, Lauren & Sarah!

They all completed the Houston Marathon this last weekend!

Awesome job guys, I'm so proud you all!

Lizzie, Jackson and I ran the Houston 5K!

We had a great time!

They both did awesome and I am so proud of them!

Jackson beat his usual time by 5 minutes and Lizzie got 10th place in her division!

Awesome!!

UPWARD Basketball

This was Jackson's last year to play basketball at the church.

Maybe next year he will be ready to help coach or referee!

We ended the year with a big banquet for all the teams and the parents.

This night was especially special to Jackson.

He had been waiting all year for this night.

After his friend Thomas passed away, one of the first things

he wanted to do to so people would remember Thomas

was something special with Thomas' Upward jersey.

So at the banquet Jackson and two of his other

best friends that were close to Thomas got to say a couple of words and

present Thomas' jersey in a shadowbox as a memorial.

It was a very special night that will never be forgotten in this family!

Basketball was one of Thomas' favorite hobbies

and Jackson will never forget all of the times that they got to play together.

All I can say is "Thank you Lord for Thomas!"

Birthday Blessings

January was a special month for me- I turned 37! Wow!

I still feel like I'm in my 20s.

Love it!

I had a great day- a great week!

My sweet husband with me on my special day.

He decided to grow a beard for his upcoming marathon.

It's suppose to keep him warm- must have to be a man to understand.

I received lots of great gifts! I just love these flowers!

They were gorgeous and lasted a long time.

I got this wonderful Pottery Barn stool from my sister-in-law.

Don't you love it!!

I received lots of special cards like the one on the green box.

It was from a close friend that made me

realize how great it is to have friends in your life.

It brought tears to my eyes.

Thank you Lord for blessing my with such a great life and wonderful people to share it with!
