Family: My Favorite Things

Small Things! I love anything small. When I was little, I remember when I would go to the doctor or dentist and get to pick out a tiny bubblegum toy out of a big bucket. My love for those tiny little space takers began then. I love how they can symbolize so many things and bring back so many memories. I love to use them in my shadow boxes for special touches.

Shadow Boxes! This is my absolute favorite project to create! I love to make special shadow boxes. I have made them for friends and family and have put a lot of love into them. Every piece of paper, picture and object means something to that person. I love using maps, bibles, keys, cards and of course letters of any kind. This one is my favorite because it is about my family. After several years of making them for others, this is the very first that I made for me! It makes me smile every time I see it. It symbolizes our love, our home, our playful & fun side, our Lord and our children. One of my favorite verses is on this, "But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord. Joshua 24:15"

I love photos! These filmstrip photos were taken at my sister-in-law's wedding and I have to say that it was a wonderful idea to have a photo booth at the reception! Everyone had so much fun! I love these photos because the two on the left are Jon and I with Jackson; the two on the right are Jon and I with Lizzie and then Jon and I in the middle. It symbolizes the love and silliness in our family. I love it! It's great! Thanks for the memories Jeb & Shelbie!

Flowers! I would never have thought that this would be one of my passions, but it has become just that. I love flowers and I love arranging them! The first time I seriously set down to make an arrangement or bouquet was for my own wedding. My mother-in-law, Kathy, some dear friends and I did all of the flowers and I have to say that we were very pleased. From then on, Kathy and I have done many weddings, but our favorite ones are always the events for dear friends and family members. I love to add special touches that help make traditions and memories. This sunflower arrangement is one of my favorites and one of many arrangements that I did for Kathy's 50th birthday party. Sunflowers are so fun to work with because just about anything goes with them. How can they not make anyone happy?
