2010 Atlantis Wars

For the last two years, my mother-in-law has received a special Christmas gift from her children and their families. It is a weekend retreat at a nearby camp.
Last year, she thought it would be fun to start a "friendly" war between family teams- the Spartans and the Triscillions.

She had no idea what was in store!
It has been great fun and we look forward to each year!
Most of the games that she planned for this year were from the new t.v. show
"Minute to Win it." They were AWESOME!

Sadly to say, the Spartans won yet another year - unfortunately I am a Triscillion:(
But for the second year in a row; the Triscillions won capture the flag hands down!
We will triumph one day!

A DAY WITH MY JACKSON

Jackson kept reminding me that he has never gotten to see the
Alamo in San Antonio.
We travel to San Antonio just about every summer and
I think the only time that we have taken him there was when he was a baby.
So... being the "never forgetful" son that Jackson can be- I said "let's go!"
We packed an overnight bag and headed out for a 3 hour drive to the Alamo.

I'm glad we did.

What a great day with my son!

I thank my God every time I remember you. Philippians 1:3

a cheerful banquet

Last night my daughter got to attend her last school banquet for her cheerleading career. How fun it was! I always here people say how they wish they could go back in time to when they were in high school. When I watch my daughter stress about school work, college, tests, friends, coaches, sports, etc. I don't desire that wish at all. However, I do love to watch her have the time of her life. You know- remember being so excited about something coming up, especially the weekend! Having butterflies in your stomach? Being so excited about something that you could wet your pants ? Okay, maybe that last one is just me!
{This next picture says it all!}
My dear Lizzie, I hope all of your good times outnumber the others!

I had the pleasure of getting to decorate the banquet! YEA!

I figured these FUN loving girls needed a fun, bright and cheerful banquet decor.
I found the most beautiful flowers in brilliant COLORS. Now what to do with them? Something unique and fun?! Well, remember that eye candy picture from a couple of posts back? The one that had a lot of colors and yes, a jar of BUBBLE GUM.

So a candy shopping I went!

Loaded up the flowers...

Added a little SPARKLE...

Found some great vases...

And then went to work having some inspirational FUN!

Mothers & Their Children

As this weekend fast approaches and I scurry out to find the best (impossible) gifts for Mother's Day, I remember a promise I made myself last year. "Next year, I will enjoy my Mother's Day weekend with my family & not concentrate on other things!" Okay, so I'm not good at keeping promises to myself. I have been busy this week getting preparations ready for a women's church retreat scheduled for this Friday & Saturday. I am very excited about getting together with all of my friends, but not being away from the hubby and kiddos. So I am promising this now, "I will welcome what God has in store for me this weekend!" Then when I get home on Saturday, our Mother's Day PARTY is on!
These are the children God has graciously given me. Genisis 33:5

Dear God, thank you so much for the two magnificent gifts that you have given to me. I truly thank you for allowing me to teach them in your ways and love them with all my heart. Amen.

Prayer Warriors: Please be in prayer for my sweet friend, Terri, who lost her precious son three months ago. This will be a difficult weekend for her and her family.

The following are some mommys & kiddos that I LOVE:

Have a BLESSED MOTHER'S DAY!
