Greetings from beyond...

Yes, I know it's been a while.
But can I say busy, busy, busy!
And of course more importantly I have been having
too much fun with FAMILY!

I did take some time to snap some shots of the Christmas decor in each room of the house. I just love decorating for the winter,
but now I'm looking forward to cleaning it all up
and putting some fresh new decor out!

So for now, here are the Christmas pics of the house.
Sorry I didn't get them out before Christmas!

Jackson has three woodland trees that I twisted together.
His ornaments are all of his favorites:
animals, sports and cowboys and indians!

Lizzie's tree is so fun! It has of course peace signs all over it
and many ornaments that bring back sweet memories!

Our family tree is a "woodland" tree.
Lots of birds, acorns, squirrels and pine cones!

The next pictures are in my kitchen.
Jackson was about 3 in the picture.
I love it!
The last picture is in our family room and the tree is our
Christian tree.
It is decorated with all of my crowns, crosses and crismons.
I hope everyone had a
Merry Christmas
with lots of
new, special memories!
I know that I did!

ALL IN A WEEKS WORK

While Jackson has been at church camp for the week, I decided to finally finish remodeling his room. He has had the cutest cowboy themed room since he was about 2. He thinks it is time to change to something older like sports- (I could keep his room the same for at least 30 more years!)

I started with painting over his cowboy bed with a red- :(

Then I painted his leather dresser the same red.

The fun baseball dart board is from the Pottery Barn Outlet. It is too much fun!
I found all of the "P.L.A.Y." letters at antique fairs.

The Pottery Barn bowling pin is from Jackson's 8th birthday party.
All of his guests signed it!
And of course, I had to do a mural on the wall of his
favorite teams and keepsakes.
The old locker is from my old high school- Go Rattlers!

This is the shadowbox that I made for Jackson at Easter.

I thought this would make for a special wall so Jackson could remember his wonderful memories with Thomas.

My dear Jackson- I truly hope that your room feels peaceful, loving and most importantly fun! I hope you have wonderful memories of your childhood room. Love you with all my heart- Mommy

decorating a barn...

one of my best friends, terri, has recently built a "house barn". we call it the "barnominium" because it is so big! it is the cutest barn that i have ever seen!
my favorite has to be the brick floors or the stained, wood ceilings or the barn red kitchen island or the butcher block cabinets... okay i love it all!

it just feels so "homey"- i could stay all day.

so, a couple of days ago terri said she was ready to start
putting all of her fantastic wall decor together!

yea, i've been waiting forever to hear that!

our first challenge was a giant, blank wall above the staircase.

her sweet, family portraits made for a great mural.

before...

after...

you can't tell by the photos, but the two long frames are pictures of her husband's family farm in the 30's. i think everything in the mural probably cost her under $25. she found everything at garage sales or goodwill. i gave her the shadowbox and the rest was probably just laying around!

i love a mural!
here is a picture of the shadowbox that i gave her that day.
i will try to send more barn pics at a later blog!

remember the great 4th of july party ideas from a few posts back? there were some great decorations in those pictures, but i wanted to share something else with you.
the bucket in the picture above looks just as cute as the pottery barn buckets. these great plates and cupcake holders are perfect also! guess where they are all from...
WAL-MART, YES WAL-MART!
the bucket is only $10.00 and so cute! they have tons of cute things for the summer and especially 4th of july. flip flops, bathing suits, decorations, flags, fun sunglasses, and tons more!
