2010 Atlantis Wars

For the last two years, my mother-in-law has received a special Christmas gift from her children and their families. It is a weekend retreat at a nearby camp.
Last year, she thought it would be fun to start a "friendly" war between family teams- the Spartans and the Triscillions.

She had no idea what was in store!
It has been great fun and we look forward to each year!
Most of the games that she planned for this year were from the new t.v. show
"Minute to Win it." They were AWESOME!

Sadly to say, the Spartans won yet another year - unfortunately I am a Triscillion:(
But for the second year in a row; the Triscillions won capture the flag hands down!
We will triumph one day!

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

What a great day! My son off to 5th grade and he still wanted me to walk him in- I even got a kiss good-bye! There won't be too many more of those.
I sure wish I could freeze time!

Sister didn't get a kiss though!
Too cool for that!

Yes, I can't believe it!
She's a senior!
This was her LAST first day of school.
I have a feeling there are going to be lots of LASTS.
I don't think it really hit me until she drove away that morning. Then I LOST it!!
I am really going to miss her when she goes to college.
WE'VE GOT TO MAKE THIS YEAR'S MEMORIES COUNT!

Funny Friday

You have to check out this
site a friend sent to me.
It is too funny!
Here are some examples...

Liquid Diet...

"Elaine, you said “Make whatever you want for dinner,” and I want those bottles of white zin I stole from the Sheraton minibar."

Time to come clean...

"Gary has no idea what exactly Elaine does in the shower every day, but he certainly knows better than to touch her wooden shower spoon or shower branch."

The bigger the cushion...

"With Elaine out of town, Gary finally had the chance to try his stuntman jump from the roof."

A DAY WITH MY JACKSON

Jackson kept reminding me that he has never gotten to see the
Alamo in San Antonio.
We travel to San Antonio just about every summer and
I think the only time that we have taken him there was when he was a baby.
So... being the "never forgetful" son that Jackson can be- I said "let's go!"
We packed an overnight bag and headed out for a 3 hour drive to the Alamo.

I'm glad we did.

What a great day with my son!

I thank my God every time I remember you. Philippians 1:3
I'VE GOT SUNSHINE...

My little blessing and niece, Saylor.

THANK YOU LORD FOR OUR BLESSING & MEMORIES

When looking for pictures for Jackson's room I found these. These two are beautiful!

ALL IN A WEEKS WORK

While Jackson has been at church camp for the week, I decided to finally finish remodeling his room. He has had the cutest cowboy themed room since he was about 2. He thinks it is time to change to something older like sports- (I could keep his room the same for at least 30 more years!)

I started with painting over his cowboy bed with a red- :(

Then I painted his leather dresser the same red.

The fun baseball dart board is from the Pottery Barn Outlet. It is too much fun!
I found all of the "P.L.A.Y." letters at antique fairs.

The Pottery Barn bowling pin is from Jackson's 8th birthday party.
All of his guests signed it!
And of course, I had to do a mural on the wall of his
favorite teams and keepsakes.
The old locker is from my old high school- Go Rattlers!

This is the shadowbox that I made for Jackson at Easter.

I thought this would make for a special wall so Jackson could remember his wonderful memories with Thomas.

My dear Jackson- I truly hope that your room feels peaceful, loving and most importantly fun! I hope you have wonderful memories of your childhood room. Love you with all my heart- Mommy
